History of Triple F

It was in the mid-seventies that Fred Salassa, then a sales associate for Honolulu Bar Supply, began to notice a number of fast food restaurants springing up around Oahu. Anticipating a need to provide them with paper and disposable products, Fred launched his own one-person operation in October 1978, taking orders and delivering them himself the next day.

Over two decades later, the company Fred started has grown to 45 employees servicing all Hawaiian Islands -- as well as Johnston Atoll, Guam, and Japan -- from warehouses in Honolulu and Kailua-Kona.

Over the years, Triple F Distributing has expanded its product line and has developed into the state’s leading bar supply specialists and one of the primary supplier on Oahu for the fast food industry.

In 1988 we purchased Kona Coast Bar Supply and quickly became the industry leader on the Big Island.

As we grew we built relationships with our vendors , becoming the master distributor for several lines of paper & disposable products and beverages, including PEPSI-COLA.

In recent years, we’ve added Cuno Water Filters to our huge inventory and have become the licensed distributor for Scotsman Ice Machines and Parts for the Hawaiian Islands. We are current members of Consolidated Distributing, Inc. (CDI), the National Beverage Dispensing Assoc. (NBDA), and the International Sanitary Supply Assoc. (ISSA), and Hawaii Restaurant & Hotel Association.

Fred Salassa remains active in the company as CEO, with a strong management team led by Carol Lee Owens as President.
